1. Who we are

Denmark Guide (denmark-guide.pro) is an independent, English-language information website about six historic castle-museums of Denmark — Kronborg, Rosenborg, Frederiksborg, Amalienborg, Egeskov and Christiansborg. This policy explains how the site handles information, in line with the EU General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR).

2. What we collect

We do not collect, store or process personal data about visitors through accounts or forms on this website. Specifically:

  • No registration, user accounts or newsletters.
  • No analytics or advertising cookies are placed by us on this domain.
  • No third-party social-media trackers or embedded pixels.
  • No selling, renting or sharing of personal data.

The only item stored in your browser is a single technical preference described in our Cookie Policy.

3. The contact form

The contact form does not send anything to a server. When you submit it, your browser opens your own email program with a draft message addressed to us. You decide whether to send it. If you do write to us, we receive only what you choose to include (for example your name, email address and message), and we use it solely to read and reply to your enquiry, keeping it only as long as needed.

4. Affiliate & outbound links (eBay)

Our Guidebooks page links to product listings on eBay. Some of these may be affiliate or referral links, meaning we could earn a small commission if you buy, at no extra cost to you. When you click such a link you leave this site for eBay, which then operates under its own privacy and cookie policies and sets its own cookies. We do not receive your name, address or payment details — the entire purchase is handled by eBay and the seller.

5. Advertising

This website may be promoted through external advertising platforms such as Google Ads — that is, adverts shown on other websites and search results that link to this site. Those adverts are served by the advertising platform on its own properties, under its own privacy terms, and do not place advertising cookies on denmark-guide.pro itself. We do not currently run any third-party advertising or analytics scripts on this domain. If that ever changes (for example if website analytics or advertising-measurement tags are added), this policy and the Cookie Policy will be updated first, the providers will be named, and any non-essential cookies will be set only after you give consent through the cookie banner.

6. Cookies and local storage

This site uses a single technical item stored in your browser's local storage to remember whether you have dismissed the cookie notice. It contains no personal data and is not used for tracking. Full details are in the Cookie Policy.

7. Hosting and server logs

The site is served by a third-party hosting provider. Like virtually all web servers, the host may automatically record technical access logs (such as IP address, date and time, and the page requested) for security and to keep the service running. This processing is carried out by the hosting provider as part of delivering the website, on the basis of its legitimate interest in operating a secure service. We do not combine these logs with other data or use them to identify individuals.

8. Third-party content

The site loads a web-font stylesheet from Google Fonts; if your browser blocks it, the site falls back to standard system fonts and remains fully usable. Castle pages link to official castle websites and to image sources on Wikimedia Commons. These external sites have their own privacy policies, which we do not control.

9. Your rights

Under the GDPR you have rights of access, rectification, erasure, restriction and objection regarding your personal data, and the right to lodge a complaint with a supervisory authority (in Denmark, Datatilsynet). Because we hold no personal data beyond any email you voluntarily send us, these rights mainly apply to that correspondence. To exercise them, write to [email protected].

10. Changes to this policy

If this policy changes, the updated version will be published on this page with a new "last updated" date.
